India and Bhutan agree to work together for capacity building in environment and climate action

Highlights:

  •  India and Bhutan agreed to collaborate on air quality, forest and wildlife management, and capacity building in the field of environment and climate change.
  • The Bhutanese delegation was led by Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Gem Tshering, while the Indian side was represented by Union Minister of State for Environment Kirti Vardhan Singh.
  • The ministers discussed key issues including air quality, climate change, forests, natural resources, wildlife, and renewable energy.
  • Minister Singh thanked the Bhutanese minister for joining the International Big Cat Alliance, an initiative by India to protect and conserve the seven big cat species worldwide.
