BlueGreen Ventures Launches $75M Fund for Early-Stage Startups

Investment veterans Rajeev Suri and Anup Jain have launched BlueGreen Ventures, a $75 million venture fund dedicated to India’s early-stage startup ecosystem. Backed by a network of global CEOs, CXOs, and Indian founders, the fund focuses on high-growth sectors like climate tech, sustainability, fintech, and B2C, aiming to nurture India’s dynamic entrepreneurial landscape.

Two-Pronged Investment Strategy

BlueGreen Ventures adopts a strategic, two-pronged approach. Its primary focus is early-stage investments in Seed to Series A rounds, targeting sectors with high social and economic impact. Cheque sizes range from INR 7 crore to INR 12 crore, providing crucial support to founders as they navigate early growth. The fund’s secondary focus is on mature companies approaching IPO readiness, investing between INR 20 crore and INR 30 crore to guide them toward market maturity.

With Sophie Lambin, CEO of Kite Insights, as a strategic advisor, BlueGreen Ventures underscores its commitment to sustainability. The founding duo’s prior portfolio boasts successes like BatterySmart, Vedantu, and CarDekho, with impressive returns exceeding 60% IRR from 2018-2021.
