Funding to Advance Fusion and HTS Technology
Tokamak Energy has raised $125 million in a funding round co-led by East X Ventures and Lingotto Investment Management, with participation from new investors including Furukawa Electric Company and British Patient Capital. This investment brings the company’s total funding to $335 million since its inception, supporting its mission to develop fusion energy and commercialize its High Temperature Superconducting (HTS) magnet technology through its TE Magnetics division.
Driving Fusion Innovation and Energy Transition
The funding will fuel the development of Tokamak Energy’s fusion pilot plant and enhance its record-breaking ST-40 spherical tokamak, which has achieved a plasma ion temperature of 100 million degrees Celsius. The company aims to tackle climate change and energy security by advancing fusion energy as a clean, limitless power source while scaling TE Magnetics to address demand in fusion and other industries like mobility, renewable energy, and scientific research.
