Aegis Energy Secures £100M Investment to Launch UK’s First Multi-Energy Refuelling Hubs for Trucks and Vans
Aegis Energy Secures £100M Investment for Multi-Energy Stations
Aegis Energy has received a £100 million ($122 million) investment from Quinbrook Infrastructure Partners to construct five multi-energy refuelling stations for commercial vehicles across the UK. The startup aims to address the dual challenges of reducing emissions and supporting fleet operators in their energy transition, providing innovative alternatives to conventional fuels.
Introducing the UK’s First Multi-Energy Refuelling Hubs
These refuelling hubs, the first of their kind in the UK, will offer electric charging, hydrogen, hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO), and biomethane options. Aegis co-founder Christopher Thorneycroft-Smith emphasized the flexibility these stations provide, allowing operators to choose the clean energy solution that best fits their transition strategy.
Timeline and Expansion Plans
The first station is set to open in early 2026, with four additional sites operational by the end of 2027 in Sheffield, Immingham, Warrington, Corby, and Towcester. Aegis plans to expand this network to 30 stations nationwide by 2030, positioning itself as a leader in multi-energy infrastructure for commercial fleets. Read More
