Climate tech startup FluxGen Sustainable Technologies has secured Rs 28 crore — about $3,209,061 — in a pre-Series A funding round led by IAN Alpha Fund to expand its AI-driven water management solutions in India and abroad.

The Bengaluru-based company, which helps industries monitor and optimize water usage, said it will use the funds to scale operations, enter new markets, and strengthen customer acquisition efforts. Rainmatter, Gameskraft Technologies, Intersection Ventures, and Force Ventures also participated in the funding round, along with existing investors Axilor Ventures and Arali Ventures, Entrackr reported.

Tackling Water Waste in Industry

Founded in 2021 by Ganesh Shankar and Emanuel Deepak, FluxGen provides technology that helps businesses track water consumption in real time and predict potential inefficiencies. FluxGen claims its solutions have helped clients cut water consumption by up to 30%. The company’s customer base includes large industrial players such as TATA Steel, Aditya Birla Group, Care Hospitals, Mahindra Group, and Microsoft. It serves industries with high water demands, including metals and mining, food and beverage, textiles, pharmaceuticals, automotive, and healthcare.

A Growing Market for Smart Water Management

With water scarcity becoming an increasing challenge, the demand for technology-driven solutions is rising. The Indian smart water management market is projected to reach Rs 42,000 crore in the next 7–10 years, with a Rs 5,000 crore annual opportunity for software-based solutions, according to market research cited by Entrackr.

FluxGen’s platform enables businesses to automate water monitoring and detect inefficiencies through prescriptive insights. The company says its AI-driven system helps industries comply with environmental regulations and minimize their impact on water resources.

To support its expansion, FluxGen has partnered with Cisco, KPMG, and Microsoft. Its technology is designed to scale across various industries, from manufacturing to smart cities and healthcare facilities.

Expansion Plans in India and Beyond

FluxGen is eyeing international markets, particularly in the Middle East and Africa, where water scarcity is a pressing issue. The company aims to bring its AI-powered solutions to industries in regions that face severe water stress.

The fresh funding will help FluxGen accelerate product development and increase its market presence, both domestically and internationally. With industries under growing pressure to improve sustainability, the company sees a significant opportunity in helping businesses manage their water resources more efficiently.
